Annoying Clutch Clicking Noise

Featured Replies

I have had this noise for around 3 months maybe even longer.

Try to explain it the best I can. When pressing the clutch pedal down most of the time when the pedal is half way down to the floor I hear and feel a clicking noise coming from the clutch pedal. It's really starting to annoy me now. Any ideas what this could be?

It's going to be either the clutch thrust bearing or possibly even the dmf failing, hopefully it's not the dmf...

Wats the dmf?

Is that a expensive job?

Dual Mass Flywheel. Very expensive.

Just googled symptoms of dual mass fly wheel. Doesn't sound lyk that. Just an annoying clicking when I press clutch down. Sometimes it doesn't do it though. Is that a case off getting a new clutch kit

Only done 38k so is it still possible it's the dmf

Yeah sadly I think it might be dmf, mine makes noises now and then in second gear...

Sadly it cam be wry expensive, 600 is a good price for it unfortunately :-(

Mine doesn't make any other noise like crunching or any thing. Just a clicking noise coming from the clutch pedal

My used to do that clicking noise after fitting a new switch it's fine now the switch is just under near the top of the pedal with two wires going to it

Is it easy to swap?

Hi yes it's easy to fit just turn the switch off the bracket and take the wire off as easy as that

It's the return spring on the pedal moving slightly where it's latched through a restraining hole. Basically the slight movement on the spring as you press the pedal wears the paint down so it eventually 'creaks' when you press it!
