Fuel Rail Is Not Working St200

Featured Replies

Hi new to this,

So i have a build)project on the go. Cut along story short my injectors are not putting fuel in the cylinders. Car is sparking i have fuel pressure as i have run a direct live to fuel pump but its itst starting and plugs are drier than a smackheads pocket..

Thanks in advance.

Also its sparking will run off csrb and choke cleaner, i also know the pressure is there as when the valve is pressed in i get covered in fuel. This problem is the only thing thats stopping me from the build..

Thanks in advance.

Cannot help but that made me chuckle

It wont be immobiliser will it as its sparking

Has the the fuel cut off switch been engaged? I am certain these have a cut off in case of accident, my ST24 did anyway, can't see the 200 being any different. Don't ask me the location though, I haven't a clue.

I have a permanent live to the fuel pump and the cut off switch pops out if i hit it hardish then i push it back in. It runs off petrol or carb and choke cleaner put through the throttle body. This is all thats stopping me from getting it finished

Have you got a supply voltage to the injectors?

  • Author

Thats what am not sure of all the plugs are plugged in i just dont no how to tell if theres a voltage there anyway of telling or wiring a live/earth straight to it

You not got access to a multimeter, I assume its the original wiring harness out of st200?

  • Author

Yes it the st200 wiring loom and yes i have s voltmeter what do i do if there's no power to tge injectors

Looks like there has been an explosion in there

Hahaha am not cleaning it all up till its running as everything fuel pump, ignition, starter etc etc all on switches

check why theres no voltage to injector. engine control relay suppies the 12v to injectors with ign on , then return wires go back to pcm which switches each injector individually

How do i actually test them

unplug the connectors off injectors, switch ign on, negative lead on multimeter to good earth point or battery negative terminal, positive cable from multimeter to one of the connectors on wiring harnesss to injector. they are the coloured wires that are green with different coloured stripes on from what info i have, you should have 12 volts at all 6 connectors

And failing not having power there what else could it be the wiring or relay. By any chance do you know which which relay it is

If no 12v then check relay, dont know which relay and where without checking, will have a look tommorow.

Update on situation i have power to all the injectors but if still not putting fuel into cylinders, there's plenty of pressure in the fuel rail. But if i put a ground to the injectors they open up and i have checked every ground. Any ideas people thinking of scrapping it.....

Have the fuel pipes been removed recently? Is it possible that they have been put on the wrong way round. Been there before.

Fuel is going to the fuel rail its not firing into the cylinder. It sparks has compression but doesnt put fuel in. I have fuel pressure at the rail but i dont think theres enough pressure

  • Author

I don't think theres enough pressure as a forum said you have around 40 psi in the fuel rail

Have the injectors been replaced at all?

  • Author

I dont no as i bought it all with the person saying it runs with no problems but if i earth the injectors out single petrol comes out like i just turned a tap on
