Remap Done..problems Start !!!

Hey lads n lasses..i got my 2010 c max 1.6 diesel chipped a couple of weeks ago. Was running great until yesterday when a distinct lack of power was noted. Cars away with a mechanic i know who thinks it may be turbo problems.. anyone had theirs chipped and had problems ???

Oh Bubba, I think there are issues with the 1.6 engine with tuning as it puts too much strain on the fuel pump or something like that, I am sure I read something about it on here.

Mine has been a pain lately big style, whining turbo, then I managed to crack the turbo housing trying to stop oil spewing out the banjo bolt, replaced the turbo core and rebuilt the turbo assembly, then the EGR valve went so swapped that and the one I bought as a spare throws up low signal from sensor.

Stripped turbo down again today and cleaned the VNT vanes up completely and used the old banjo bolt as I was still getting some seeping of oil, the new banjo bolt from Ford was too long. Running better but still need to change the EGR valve for a working decent one and see if it behaves better then.

Although I am still getting an underboost DTC but no where near as bad as it was underboosting.

So still in the same club mate, almost as reliable/unreliable as my ZTT, delete as you feel fit lol

ZTT still sat here looking very sorry for itself, although was able to nick a jubilee clip of it when one bust tightening it back up lol

Im getting the chip removed on wednesday si.. cant b####y wait. Im thinking of getting a 2.0 ltr cmax as the car is comfortable enough....OR AN INSIGNIA ...FFS I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ... PMSL..

Quality response Bubba, but saying Vauxhall on here is probably worse than saying BMW on .org lol There seems to be a lot of Vauxhall vitriol on this forum big style lol

Hi sorry to take over this topic. I have a 64 plate c max 1.6 tdci. I want to get it "bluefined" as I have got the unit from a previous ford tdci. Has anyone else used bluefin on their cmax?

Stuart

I have seen on other forums the bluefin on CMAX and the results seemed to be good Stuart

Well thats it...decision made. Im going to take a hit and get rid of the c max...it is far too slow with little or no torque..paid a deposit on a passat highline this morning..

si...its time you changed your car as well mate 😉😉😉

Shame to see you leave the blue oval bubba!

I have seen on other forums the bluefin on CMAX and the results seemed to be good Stuart

Hi, that sounds good the only thing concerning me is superchips/bluefin dealer has to "unlock" the ecu first. Wasn't sure if that's common on these newer fords?

Not that I'm aware of, some of the latest ford's haven't got a map to write but never had an ecu to play with. I could be wrong though
