Replacing Transponder

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Please could you help me resolve this issue for my mother.

She has an 09 Fiesta Zetec, it only came with 1 key which is the non-flip 3 button type.

During trying to change the battery it seems the chip is damaged and thus the central locking is not working.

The key obviously unlocks the car manually and still starts the car so the imobisiler still works.

Is there a guide on how to replace / transfer it all over to a new transponder.

Thanks in advance.

Buy a replacement key body with a central locking circuit fitted and simply swap the button side of the cases over then re-programne the central locking.

As you'll be retaining the parts with the key blade and transponder in it shouldn't cause any problems.
