Interior Main Light Troubles! (mk7)

Featured Replies

I changed my interior light bulb, and now it isn't automatically turning off when it should, i.e. when I lock the car, the bulb stays lit.

The left side is off, and the middle stays on, and then the right side is also off.

I'm unsure as to whether I've tripped it or something or if it's just in the wrong position.

Any advice is welcomed, I've replaced the original bulb and it hasn't reverted to like-before.

Thanks.

Double checked when I put the light back in. It's so odd, the only change was the bulb! Now the auto dimmer function of the light doesn't work.

Thinking I've tripped it or something, does that light have its own fuse?

Its always worthwhile disconnecting the battery for a few seconds to see if a reboot will cure the problem.

Check the bulb holder of the interior. I've completely rewired mine to LED panels, but I remember that the bulb holder connections can actually get bent or the holder can rotate in such a way that it can actually get a continuous - or non-existent - connection.

You're looking for the two thin sticking out bits of metal on the plastic holder.
