New Headunit - Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Anyone help me out? I bought A Carsio head unit from the bay. Bought myself a quadlock to ISO adapter, and used the provided ISO adapter they gave as part of the sale (suitable for focus / cmax)

So, I look at the quadlock, if I look at the cable, exactly as it goes into the quadlock, these are the pins and what I have worked out it has.

Now, when I plug in the ISO converter (consider I am still looking "down" the cables, as they are plugging into the ISO...

The two ISO parts seperate as follows:

These then head off to the ISO connector, (all bar illumination which is actually on the right side, and isnt pinned out...)

I have connected these up to the wiring in the car, but when I plug the head unit in, I get nothing! so, after reading up, its a case of switch the red and yellow wire...

So I took the red and yellows, cut them, spliced them into a spade connector and spun them around. still -0 nothing!

I get a 12v pinout on the permalive, but I dont seem to be getting anything on the ignition live. Though it does work because I put the original stereo in and it doesnt work...

Here is the pictures:

Anyone got any idea's why its not working?

the stereo is a seller refurbished, so I havent ruled out altogether a faulty head unit...

Oddly I do indeed get a valid multimeter reading on the 12v battery, but not for the ignition connection. but the headunit wont turn on it would seem.

Sounds like theres a potential problem with the 12V Line or Grounding.

Do you have a multimeter to hand?

Could you check the voltage reading on each of the pins.

Yeah did try some but I so need to sort it again tomorrow. Think I actually got somewhere, swapped the wires and checked the connections and also rewired it...

I had a little issue with the headunit I Installed in my Fiesta, Turned out the ground pin was in the wrong place on the harness I bought.
