Boot Accessories, Pet Pack And Storage.

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the pet pack for their fiesta?, is it any good?

I've got an ST but will need to put my big hairy dog in there soon and since its brand new I'm still a bit precious with it!

Also, are there any decent additions for the boot for shopping etc, so it doesn't go all over the place?. I've seen some boot storage options on the U.S. Site but not over here.

Loving the fun part of the ST but gotta sort some practicalities now :)

Not exactly a Fiesta solution, but whenever I do a supermarket shop, I always nick empty cardboard boxes from the fruit and veg aisle. By playing 3D puzzles to fit the shopping in boxes, I find the shopping is much easier to transport and I also get a pat on the back from the environment too as the boxes then get recycled as they otherwise would have anyway!

I bought a genuine Ford Boot mat for mine. It's raised edges and perfect fit made it a better choice over simple flat mats off eBay etc.

Only other advice I would have for transporting a dog would be to get a cheap king size bed sheet/cover and tuck it in tightly over the back seat and into the boot area to stop any slobber/mess :D

**Edit**

I did the above with my Zetec which was 5 door so was easier to get the dog/s in and out when I had to take/collect them from the vets.

Haven't had to use my ST3 yet for dog transport.

I had the Pet Pack with my 2014 Tit X which was fitted in October 2014 a little after car was delivered. It is very sturdy an includes a floor and protection for the boot lip. My Jack Russel is accommodated in comfort but she is small dog. I transported a Labrador for a short distance but space was quite restricted. I use a small door mat over the plastic floor.

I have the Pet Pack permanently in place and the tinted Windows allow reasonable privacy. I found a collapsible carrier which I got from Costco which allows me to place the week`s shop in the car.

I've been looking at the Ford boot mat for my two dogs (Border Collies). I've tried the universal fit ones from ebay and they are okay but not great.

What I'd like to know (from the guys who have the pet packs) is does the mat provide any support? My current mondy floor is very thin and has started to collapse with the weight.

The OEM mat is sturdy but it's not going to fully support any heavy dog/s. Perhaps placing a piece of MDF board beneath the boot floor would be a good idea.

My parents have done this (well, actually I did it for them) in their Fusion. They have a Labrador X border collie (mainly Labrador though!).

I have 2 Greyhounds and cary I in the boot and the other on the back seat. I have a spare wheel which helps support the boot floor and liner.

I only buy 2 bags of a shopping at a time, and use the hooks in the boot. lol

I forgot that I have the spare wheel in the boot space :). Getting a spare wheel though would be slightly more expensive than MDF though (and you could always cut a wheel shape piece in case of a flat tyre :D).
