I'm not sure what's in the car at the moment, I guess an oil change is best but can't afford that at the moment, so would settle for just topping it up. It says to use Castrol oil, and I'm going to assume it's 5w 30?

    Nevermind, found it now on a service history. Castrol Magnetic 5w 30

    The Range have Castrol Magnatec A1 (the Ford recommended one) at about £30 for 4l. Or ECP have 5l of Shell Helix AF for about the same price. An oil filter is about 6-7 quid. You can get cheaper oils that will do the job, up to you.
