Is This A Normal Focus Cabin Noise Or Not?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Been noticing a weird whirring, buzzing coming from the dash area when sitting at idle that increases in pitch/speed when I tap the accelerator.

As the car is new to me I'm still in that feeling out stage where im still working out what noises are 'normal' for the car or not. I'm not sure about this though.

It' sounds like a soft slightly high pitched whirr/buzz that gets angrier when I touch the accelerator, I can't hear really it at all when driving about unless I really concentrate, then I can just about hear it faintly. Is it normal, does anyone else Focus sound like this or is it a failing pump of some description?

Here's a video link, you can hear it when I tap the accelerator a bit: https://youtu.be/UM7XyOgjKOU
