Wiper Malfunction / Confusion!

Featured Replies

  1. After getting progressivly slower my wipers ground to a halt this week. (2005 Focus 1.6TDCi Ghia)
  2. You could still hear the relay clicking and the motor was trying to work.
  3. I stripped out the motor and mechanism and found the mechanism to be siezed.
  4. This was freed off, lubed up and reinstalled, but still does not work.
  5. I then noticed I would no longer hear the relay.
  6. The fuse was blown (no50) and has been replaced, and you can hear the realy clicking but the wipers are not working.
  7. I removed the motor and checked that it works (it works with jumper leads to the right pins but not when connected to the loom) and took a look in the gearbox, all looks fine, I also cleaned up the two contacts in the gearbox (wiper position sensors or prevents stopping when not returned to the bottom of the screen?)
  8. But it still will not work.....there appears to be no signal from the loom to switch on the motor, although the white wire to the motor gets 14V perminently (wipers on or off).

Does anyone have further ideas?

Appoogies if this has been covered before, I did have a look round and could not see any info
