Phone Buttons On 2010 Focus 1.6tdci Zetec Dpf

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a 2010 focus, and I am having some difficulties with the Phone buttons, on the stereo system, there are 3 buttons ,1 that reads phone, 1 green picture of phone, & 1 red picture of phone, all of them when pressed give the display "Audio Muted". I cant figure out if it is broken or not. I have tried to get an owners handbook, but for some strange reason they do not have any for this model, anyone have any ideas? :)

Hi mate, firstly welcome.

As for phone , you will not have the bluetooth module behind glovebox . To find out look for these or take these steps.check for:

1. Audio remote stalk should have a small button on top highlighted 'Voice.

2. Above your head near courtesay light should be a mic behind wrong holed thing.

3. Remove glovebox check for a squarissh box which be above the glove box . If none of the above are their then its spending money time

. First see if looms are their.

Whilst glovebox off amongst the thick loom will be a big grey push fit multiplug.

Remove the courtesay light to see if mic is their by feeling with your finger above the grille thing. & see if has 2 wire plug going into it.

Then if you dont have the voice button on audio stalk you will need to buy one . Hard to find used & new are around £96 as i had to buy new.

If all the looms are in place you can upgrade needing the following

1.Module : has to be a focus one with pacific number on it, (Dont take ebay seller note when they say compatible focus/fiesta/ mondeo)

2 . Voice command audio stalk , it must have voice button on top of stalk..

3.if you want centre ipod connection & charger , then you will need additinal bits like loom/ phone holder etc. I didnt bother for now.

4. Once all bits are plugged in then need to enable in gem via ford or elm327 , which most people have done as its free .dealers will rip you off.

I' m sure other members can detailly explain you more as i've only briefly explained.

Btw. The bluetooth feature was an option so not all models came with it .mine is a 2010 Titanium but had no bluetooth.

If you intend to do this feature snap this as they hard to find

Ebay item. Ask the seller for full kit as he may have it. Focus breaker in east yorkshire.

I went with parrot hands free easier

I went with parrot hands free easier

probably cheaper & less hassle.

Those buttons don't work in mine either.

I just bought a sturdy phone holder for the vent nearest to me and if someone calls I just put them on speaker. They can hear me and I can hear them fine. I cut out the middle man which in this case was the car itself.

Best part is it only cost £8 from eBay.

great idea
