Down Gears Not Working 2,4 And R

Featured Replies

Hi All

Was just about to try reversing in my 2001 focus but i couldnt select a gear so i tried working through them all 1 3 and 5 select fine but 2 4 and R just wont select. Is this a sign of a knackerd gear box or is it something that can be fixed.

I dont mind getting my hands dirty already changed the speed sensor and air inlet valve

any advice would be massively appreciated

Thanks Nick

Just the bottom set of gears...might be worth checking the linkages.

If it was anything inside the box itself it would be one hell of a coincidence that only those three would be affected.

So: inspect, clean & lube - possibly replace. Don't know how big the job would be though

I am making an observational guess lol
