Hi I am a newbie and a new Ford Focus zetec 2006 owner. I just got the car on eBay few weeks ago and it now need a replacement engine.

Please does anyone know where I can get a good replacement engine or a reconditioned one?

I have contacted lots of companies but they all seem to have bad reviews .

I bought it and on my way home there was a clicking noise and then heavy white smoke started coming out from the exhaust and the car stopped (engine system fault) showed on the dashboard. Towed it to the garage and they took out the engine head -was told piston is broken and the cylinder 4 is also broken leading to no compression from the engine.

what you have to weigh up is that most folk don't write in to say nice things, everywhere will have bad ones, question is, how many sound like one offs

ah i see best place to get a replacedment is from a local breaker ssome ebay business sellers will sell an engine with a warranty if you get a garage to fit it personally ide go through ebay the car was clearly knackered and if theydidnt state it had issues then you may have a case.

I have been on eBay, the price are on the high side . Asking price is Btw 750 - 800 for the QQDA engines.

Does anyone have an idea of labour cost to replace an engine??
