Ford Focus Mk2 2006 Radio Interference

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have just purchased Ford Focus mk2 2006, whenever I plug usb charger into cigarette slot FM radio signal goes really bad - to almost no reception at all. Does anyone would know why this is happening?

Do I need to use some special kind of charger or should I check a fuse or anything?

Thanks,

Have you tried a different charger?

Sounds like the charger is producing electrical interference to me.

Yes, I did try 3-4 chargers and they all did affect radio reception :( would you recommend any specific charger?

You could try adding ferrite rf shields to the aerial cable at the back of the radio.

Also make sure you keep the charger cable as far away from the route of the aerial cable as possible (mainly the drivers side 'A' pillar).
