2007 Focus 1.8 Ghia Stall Or Cut Out?

My dad owns a 2007 Focus 1.8 Ghia (Diesel) the problem is when car is idle if you just quickly press and release the accelerator it will some times

just cut out or stall (hard to say which) their is no rough idle. Basically at a traffic light if you don't get the revs to at least 3k you're going to

stall / cut out, you can sit on the driveway in neutral and it still does it when releasing the throttle from low revs.

This is a weird issue and no garages can seem to figure it out.

Hope someone can shed some light on this as it's becoming a problem my Focus and my mums Mondeo are perfectly fine.
