Cylinder Fuel Injector Error Question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently bought a second hand 2011 Ford Focus Titanium, 1.6 TDCI.(85,000 miles completed)

I took it to a Ford Servicing garage where they applied a software update to the car computer system.

After the update they did a complementary Diagnostic of the car and found the following two Faults

- Cylinder 1 Fuel Injector Offset Learning at Max Limit.

- Cylinder 2 Fuel Injector Offset Learning at Max Limit.

There was a recommendation that I replace the 2 Injectors although not needed immediately

There are no errors appearing on the car display and the drive of the car seems to be very good. No power loss etc.

Question 1: What are the consequences of leaving this as is for the time being and just waiting for either a symptom (i.e. loss of power or missing) or a warning message on the dash?

Question 2: How long is it likely it will be before I need to take action?

Thanks in advance

Sean

I,be got a dodgy injector on my 1.8tdci and have had for the last 15000 miles get a stutter around 60 mph which I love with just drop it below or go just above it no other probs with drive or mpg so really don't think it's anything to be overly worried about could be just a case of they need recoding to the Ecu I'm one of these that if it's running fine leave it but look at it as soon as you feel a difference you know the way your car drives so will be able to tell a change in it .

Thanks Neil, that's put my mind a rest.

I bought this Focus to replace my year 2000 Focus which I still love but is after 160,000 miles it's time to upgrade.

If they could connect a diagnostic tool to my old car they would probably be loads of alerts.... but it still drives fine.
