Replace Ford Cd 6000

Featured Replies

Hi, I've recently bought a Fiesta, first car, the radio in it is a Ford 6000 CD (Picture here). If I buy this one to replace it will it fit, will I need to buy anything extra to go with it and will I be able to install it myself? I've got zero experience with this sort of thing.

Welcome to the forum and also the open road :)

Headunit upgrade is a great place to start,

You will need an "iSO Adaptor" and aerial adaptor these items take the ford sockets and turn them in to sockets which accept any yes any aftermarket headunit such as the one you have linked above,

Fellow member "GingerFlame" is most experienced with your model he will soon be online to recommend the best kit to convert your headunit to aftermarket,

In the meantime you may like to check out his build thread:

Hi Kieran, it's Kieran ;) aha

Sorry to be a pain but I'm half asleep at the minute as I leave town at 3am for Ford fair. I'll get back to you Monday night with a reply and links! Meanwhile you could have a read of my build log. My audio "section" is mostly towards the beginning

Cheers guys, I reckon this one might be a bit of a big task for me at this stage. I've called Halfords and they reckon it'll take them an hour or two so I'd probably end up travelling around with the radio hanging out for a month, I'll be giving it them to get it done professionally.

How far away are you from Bridlington?

About 3 hours away.

About 3 hours away.

What's your budget for the headunit itself?

Personally, if I was unable to do it myself, I'd pay an autoelectrician. Not halfrauds :)

If thats how you feel about installing then its probably the best way to go mate,

However we can still help you,

If you sign up to premium forum membership you will recieve a lifetime 15% Discount Card for Halfords,

The card is yours for life, never expires and would save you a lot on install

£150ish, but I'm currently looking at this one

Should be all done for comfortably under £200 with the trade in which I'm pretty happy with.
