JohnAG
I rather stupidly tried to remove the radio using a coat hanger rather than waiting for the actual keys. Part of the coat hanger has now broken and is stuck inside one of the holes. What do I do?
WES180
I take it its an old style 6000 unit with 2 holes either side? You might get away with leaving it in there and bend one of the keys so it fits in the other hole and then use the other key to release the other side of the radio first. JohnAG
Yes that's right, Ah okay, so use the keys in the 3 holes and hope it comes out? If that doesn't work, is there no other way to get the radio out? Thanks John
WES180
It should come out using the keys in the 3 holes mate if the hanger is still in the 4th. When you put the keys in if i remember rightly you push the keys to the outer side edges of the radio to release the locking tabs. Let us know how you get on when you have the keys. I think you will cause damage to the fascia trying to get it out any other way.
Stoney871
I would put 3 keys in and use a thin screwdriver in the blocked hole to push the clip. I have some photos on my home PC showing the clips and will post them up tonight for you so you can orientate yourself better.
