Had an engine warning light come on the other day, took it to Kwik Fit to have it read and reset (they didn't charge!!!) to find there was a fault with the ignition coils which was earthing. I have been noticing misfires when travelling a speed over the past few months.

Is the ignition coil the same as the coil pack and is this a common fault? I have been told if the light comes on again, to take it to an auto electrician.

BTW, I've been having problems with limp mode and misfires all year: so far had the coil pack, sparks and a new accelerator pedal as these have come up as faults before.
