tazzman600
Hello folks. Since I predominantly do short journeys I want to stay on top of my DPF. To do this I want to do static regens. I've got an OBD2 reader from when I had my titx sport mondeo and a version of Forscan on a laptop. I was able to do a forced regen on the mondeo. I no longer have that laptop but have old faithful one running windows XP. Now then I downloaded forscan front their site but when I opened it up it was in a foreign language! !!!! Therefore the question is which version of Forscan do I need? My OBD2 reader is a ELM327 500k and with a switch. All answers truly appreciated. tazzman600
I've downloaded that version 4 times and each time it's in a foreign language
suddste
Just change it to English. By default it starts in another language because it doesnt get the regional settings from Windows for some reason.

tazzman600
Update. Download it today and followed advice and low and behold it's now in English. Think tho I'll have to contact forscan as it wouldn't do a full regen. I got confirmation it'll work on XP and it recognises my switchable EML327. Thanks again guys. TomsFocus
Did you have plenty of fuel and the engine up to temperature? Regen won't start without that.
tazzman600
Hi Tom. Engine temp was well up but tank was showing 1/4. Been in touch with forscan and am going to try send them the log from my laptop. Maybe the 1/4 tank had something to do with it. Seem now to recall at least 1/2 a tank showing is needed. Regen did start but only got to 18% before engine shut down.
TomsFocus
If it started then the fuel level was ok. Not sure why it would've stopped at 18% though, interested to see what Forscan say.
