2007 Focus Ticking

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a 2007 focus 1.6 petrol, latlely when I start it up, it makes a ticking noise when I accelerate but when the engine heats up it goes away. Any ideas what this could be?

Any help is aprechiated.

Thanks!

Probably tappets.I wouldn't be too concerned about it.Some. add an engine additive and swear by it at oil changes.Never used it myself so I can't recommend it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm over due a service so i might look into the additives while I'm at it.

I was thinking myself it might be an exhaust leak or something.

Difficult to know without hearing.Lol

True. Hopefully bits just something simple.

If its 100bhp likely just from the oil draining away using castrol magnatec helps if its the 115 bhp then its just a normal noise from the injectors

It's 100bhp.

Thanks for the reply!
