Aircon Recharge Port

Featured Replies

Hi. Can someone please tell me where's the aircon recharge port on a mk 7 Zetec s? Thanks

If you're asking so you can refill it yourself at home, Dont

If youre asking to show a garage , find another garage

Oh ok then lol. I take it you don't rate the diy recharge kits?

They cause more damage then they're worth. They can put too much/too little refridgerant into the system. Too little lubcricant, too much. Over pressurise

They won't test for leaks, meaning you could just pump refridgerant into the atmosphere.. Which doing so knowingly is illegal. .

And, if you slip with it and get it on your skin/breath it in.. it's nasty stuff, whatever the bottle may say

I understand wanting to save money on a recharge.. but it's better to spend the money and have it done properly instead of damaging something and having to spend even more :)

Wise tips! :D

R134a is the gas , and only professionals should carry this job out , you could end up doing more harm that good as others have said. Take it to a reputable garage and leave Halfords well alone too.

Couldn't agree more!

Thanks for the advice guys. Saved me from making a potentially critical error

Be wary of Kwik Fit as well.

Their "Technicians" don't know the difference between arses and elbows!!

As far as I can gather, the training course to become a Kwik Fit AC "Technician" consists of a 3 day course somewhere in Derbyshire where the aim is to turn up with the biggest hangover. They are then awarded a Diploma...

I've only ever used a kwik fit once in an emergency when a radiator blew in an old Peugeot. Good to know though, cheers Sean
