How To Release Parking Brake Cmax 2005

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I am going to be replacing the rear pads on my 2005 CMax which has an electronic handbrake asap, As many of you with the same feature know once the key is removed from the ignition the handbrake automatically engages, apart from leaving the keys in the ignition is there a way to release the brake to enable me to remove the cable from the caliper?

Thanks guys

Try pressing and holding he parking brake switch as you remove the key, then open your door and you should get a message on dash saying parking brake not applied.

Otherwise there is a manual way of releasing the parking brake too according to this website.
