Hey guys,

I found a pretty sweet deal on the sony radio for the focus mk2.

I currently have the cd6000 and want to fit the sony radio that came in with the titanium models.

My questions is, will it fit in my focus without any modifications of the faceplate (or whatever the plastic is called), and will there be noticeable sound improvement?

Hi, yes it will fit just fine. make sure its the same square type for the pre-facelift MK2

there is a nice sound difference compared to the standard cd6000

I changed mine its a nice was fit only get one for a focus or fiesta not mondeo there's a very noticeable sound difference though I'm going to upgrade the front speakers

The Sony one sounds far better than the Visteon model for sure.

As above, avoid any listed for a Mondeo as they are a different shape and the wiring is different too.

How can I tell the difference between the one for the mondeo and the one for the focus focus?

The mondeo radio has a faceplate that is wider at the top, the front is slightly angled to match the curve of the dashboard, the wire terminals are switched around and the radio casing is also deeper.

The one in your photos is exactly what you need.
