Water In Euro Reverse Light Focus Mk2

Featured Replies

Just noticed water in the euro reverse light, i know its a known issue but what actios or precaution have been taken to iliminate the problem?

I'm thinking of drilling a couple of tiny hole on bottom to drain out water. Is that the solution?

Any other ideas or tips?

Hi Yunii,

I've not experienced this issue myself,

I purchased mine from fordpartsuk.com

there are many replicas from China on the market selling as Genuine,

One way to know if genuine is by taking a picture with the Flash ON

if genuine the red reflector strip shines bright in picture just like the RHD unit does.

if a replica it doesn't shine/reflect as good.

Drilling a hole would help but also allow grit and dirt to enter as you drive.

I suggest drilling a hole around 8.5mm

Then fit an 8mm pipe to the hole and silicone around it.

Cut the pipe at around 2" incles long

this will allow the unit to drain off without and back flow debree entering the unit.

yep that's Genuine :)

It's when the red doesn't reflect as much as the original side then it's a replica part.
