Complete Central Locking Failure Mk3 Mondeo

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a 2001 mk3 2.0 zetec mondeo

I've seen a number of posts about the central problems on mk3 mondeo's but I've got different symptoms to what I've seen described and have tried a few things already, so here goes;

I have got a complete central locking failure, it doesn't work with the fob, with the key in the door and the internal and external boot buttons don't work either. All doors have to be opened manually and the boot has to be opened with the key.

If I press and hold the unlock button on the fob the windows all drop and they I can get them back up by pushing the lock button.

When pushing the lock button I can hear something clicking in the drivers footwell but nothing happens.

I have;

- replaced the fuses (25, 30 and 32)

- cleaned and reseated the module and connectors in the drivers footwell

- reprogrammed 2 fobs

- replaced the drivers door central locking module

After this, no change at all.

My mechanic has run a diagnostic and nothing is coming up.

He is at a loss of what to try and the next is to take it to ford and pay for an hour or 2 of labour to see if they can locate it.

Has anyone got any other suggestions before I head to ford?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Craig
