Ford Focus Tdci 2011 1.6 Problems

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is my 1st post here i recently bought a ford focus 1.6 tcdi from a small dealership, and its been a rough ride these last couple of weeks, The car started having an issue around 2-3 weeks of owning it so i was out of my cooling off period, It started to hold back lack of power and one night driving home it was worse than ever so i was going to take this car back to the dealership, well that morning it would not start turning over but not firing... So i called out the AA and they came and it came up with around 6 faults, Low fuel rail pressure crankshaft incorrect position low fuel warning some others which i cant remember so they got it started using carb cleaner drove to dealer they took it inn and gave them the paperwork from AA and i thought that would be that well no 3 days later come and collect car garage said there was faults on ecu they have deleted them and it started so see how it goes get to work and finish wont start fuming.. calls AA again gets home 9pm following morning i am going to take car back to dealers wont start this is a joke calls AA again and to be told final time they will come for this fault. car dealers taken the car to a local garage near to me i called them they said the car has stoped and started about 50 times we cant find fault. i asked them to test fuel pressure until the fault comes we cant do much but we have changed the battery it was buggered.. i goes today to collet it and it wont start low fuel rail pressure to which i already asked so this is where i am at. close to calling it a day and telling the finace company to get it and shove there finace up there jax.

is it the mk3 2011 focus?

low fuel pressure on those normally either blocked fuel filter,or high pressure fuel pump failure( can break up if poor fuel quality or miss fueled (unleaded) at some point.

It is the mk2.5 sport model has had fuel filter fitted new at some point garage point it out as new as its shiny and it gets tarnished over time.

Hi Foyz, just interested to know did you take this heap of s.... for a long test drive?

Sent from my iPad using Ford OC

the fuel filter on mine was old and was shiny, assuming nothing, you can probably tell how old it is by bleeding off the water, you will likely need to reprime it again though so be careful and make sure you have a means of priming it again.

If a good hundred mills of water comes out the bottom before the diesel starts to flow then you know its old.... and shiny!
