Leather Quality

Featured Replies

So I'm talking delivery of my new Titanium X in a few weeks and just had a quick question for those with a MK7 who have one of the leather seat options (not Recaro).

What's the quality of the leather like that Ford use? I didn't have chance to test an option that had leather, but opted for the standard part leather rather than the full leather (just personal preference).

My friend has a new Merc B-class with leather seats, obviously not expecting it to be anywhere near the quality of that, but would be interested to hear any comparisons people have - and how well they're lasting! Especially if you have the part leather option.

Thanks :)

Titanium X owner here.

Part Leather is a good comprises I'd say. Had full leather in my Focus and found it too hot in sumer and too cold in winter.

My seats have 10.000 miles on them and still look like new.

I'm sure you'll love them :)

I had full leather in my New fiesta before it got stolen, found it a bit slippery , had leather in the past in other cars , they need looking after , get cold in winter and hot in summer as other member has stated. If you have a dog its a definate no no. I now have the standard part leather it will be much easier to keep clean and will be comfortable all year round also i have heated seats so the best of both worlds. Quality was ok though with the full leather

Shiny, extra slippery leather is dirty leather. Leather cleaner & conditioner should sort it :)

I have part leather from a Fiesta ST in my Fiesta and as long as you look after them with leather cleaner & conditioner they will continue to look great. As an aside I have the full leather option in my Avensis estate and it is really easy to keep clean and in good condition, we have dogs that go in the back and their hairs are so much easier to hoover up than in a cloth interior.

I have full leather and have had no issues so far.

As with any sports seats just watch the side bolsters dont get crushed.

I think the quality is pretty good for a Ford, no where near as good as my old 3 series but better than a Lexus CT200h which are paper thin.

I have full leather and easy to clean and if cold just turn the heated seats on ( if you have them )

Cant say i have noticed them beeing to hot of cold tho and been in the car in very hot and very cold weather.

Got a good protection on them so just wipe off and don't sink into the seat then if you spill anything.

I've got the full leather in my titanium x, and it's lovely. Still smells the part too 6 months after I bought it brand new - needs feeding and cleaning soon probably but whenever I sit in the car and breathe in I love it

Also had my daughter spill a mcds milkshake all down one and it simply wiped off, you wouldn't know if I hadn't told you ;)

I have full leather in my Titanium which comes heated as standard. Quality is very good - better than cars of a similar price point.
