Cherry Bomb On Fiesta Mk5 (2002)

Featured Replies

Hey, everyone. :)

I've seen a few people with Cherry Bomb Glasspacks (Sportex-type) exhausts on their Fiesta's.

Here's an example: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KxTit0_XqM)

They're supposed to make your car sound 'sporty'. I was just wondering how these would even be installed. I've looked under my Fiesta MK5 (2002) and all I see is the exhaust connected to a BIG muffler.

A Cherry Bomb looks like this: (http://www.fastcardirect.co.uk/ebay/IMAGES/OBT3-5.jpg). How would this even be installed on a car like mine? The exhaust and muffler are massive, and this cherry bomb looks really small. How is it done?

Any exhaust specialist will replace the existing cat back pipe feeding from the catalyst to the exhaust tip,

The Cherry bomb would either be fitted further back on the straight pipe

or

by dipping the existing exhaust lower to gain greater length close to the rear bumper.

I personally wouldn't fit one because they scream boy racer not enthusiast and will do your head in on long journeys but we all live and learn for ourselves

I'd fit a 1.5" 200 cell catalyst 1.5" pipework back to a Magnaflow muffler or pipercross then choice of tip.

still gives a sporty tone that says enthusiast rather than Ricer

Would you call yourself a Chav? Cause I may if you fitted a "cherry bomb" trump box..

If you're going to go for a PERFORMANCE exhaust (not a trump can) follow leonards advice

the last time I had a cheery was on a escort back in the day

CORSA's and the likes fit motor bike back box's from Yamaha R1 or similar in duplex form I.e. one on either side of bumper
