Battery For Focus 2010 Year, 1.6 100hp ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Bit late this question since I've already purchased and fitted a new battery but .....

The battery failed on my Focus last week. It did exactly the same thing as my mrs' old Ka with an odd crank on the day before then totally dead the next day. They don't give much warning do they these days?

Anyway, I had a look around at some possible replacements and got hold of a new Varta C6 "063" battery for less than 50 quid delivered as I may just well keep this car for another 5 years and didn't want any further hassle (5 yr guarantee on this type).

I just want to clarify that this battery is suitable for the car given that I believe it's a calcium battery but I can't find where anything says its a silver calcium.

Anyone care to tell me that it's the right one, please?

Thanks,

D

It is in fact a silver calcium.... varta silver series'

Silver calcium is best but a calcium battery works also and yes its fine fir the car

Thanks for the reply.

It is listed as being suitable on the Tayna batteries site (which is where I got it from) but I've also seen lead-acid batteries listed as suitable for this model on other battery seller sites...so I started to not trust the information.

Just out of interest, where did you find the info that it is a silver calcium? I thought it might be, given the name, but their blue dynamic batteries are calcium, too (?)

Varta themselves the blue you speak of is a flood cell silver calcium battery designed for start stop function vehicles a lead acid can be fitted but it will burn out and electrical problems are not unusual this may explain
