Cheap Nasty Plastic Bits

Featured Replies

Hi all,

2009 1.6 (100) Zetec, terrible wind noise on the motorway.

When I bought it the nearside rear plastic window trim was standing proud from the door, it looks like someone had tried to reduce the wind noise by putting that horrible black sealer that never dries around the top of the trim (see photos, after i cleaned it up)

At first I thought it was broken and had been glued on so I left it alone, however, after a year of pulling dead insects, fluff and anything else that stuck to it I cleared it up.

Wind noise is exactly the same no worse but the top is sticking out, I think the sealer may have warped it slightly.

How are these stuck on? how do they come off?

why can't I live with it? ( the other side isn't a lot better)

I think you need a new one of those... Don't know how it comes off though.

That's what I'm trying to work out. I have pulled the rubber seal over it and it looks a bit better now, just need to work out how to get sealant off my hands! At least I won't have to keep picking insects off it!

Thanks for the reply.
