Ford 6000cd Radio

Featured Replies

Ok this has been asked 100's of times i know but in all honesty i'm still confused and not even Ford or Halfords know. I've got a 05 Focus Titanium with the CDDJ button but i've also found the AUX socket in the glove box. I've read about the AUX socket being white as well as black and some having all the wiring hidden away disconnected while others have no wiring at all for this socket. It baffles me how there can be so many different options for one car

What would i need to do to get it working (as cheap as possible) with as little fuss as possible, my auto electrics knowledge is limited. I've attached a couple of pics, it was dark so didn't really have a right good look around. Thanks for any help

I presume that you have checked it isn't working? Lol

It's pretty easy to pop the glovebox out to have a look for the wiring loom. If it's there, it should just plug into the back of the radio unit (plenty of guides on the Forum).

If it isn't present, then someone here should be able to find a part number for you.

With the part number, hit up ebay etc. Should be plug & play

It wont work that buttons for a cd changed and not an aux input you need a head unit with the aux button plenty on eBay reasonably cheap

If you have a 6000CD with CDDJ button this is not possible. The HU looks for the CD changer using a ACP protocal (fords serial comms for audio) and if no connection and handshake available it say no CDDJ connected.

Mine didn't have the aux connection in the glove box but did have the cable running from the radio. But after doing a little searching on the forum I ended up going the easier route and purchasing a cable from eBay. This is the one I got, it also comes with the 4 keys to remove the stereo http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-6000-CD-Aux-IN-GOLD-Plated-Input-Adapter-for-IPOD-MP3-Radio-Pins-Keys-/400530047251?hash=item5d41738113

If you read the following thread you will see a picture of the block that connects to the radio http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/39829-6000cd-mk2-aux-connection/page-2 I had to pop out the existing aux block and connect the eBay one. I then ran the cable down the side of the trim and out into the footwell to connect to my phone, total time less than 10 minutes.

I use a Samsung S5 and when in car mode and connected to the aux cable you also get full handsfree for calls.

please read above the stereo does not have an aux button it has the cddj button for a cd changer a cable wll plug in but you cant select aux through the cddj button

Another piece of good info for me to memorise,

I figured they were all the same except cd or cassette, cddj I had to google that one to find out what it was :whistling:
