    Ford-Man thanks, FordEtis is a fascinating site. Popped in my reg and got a full build spec of my car. Amongst the specs it states "ICE-low level CD + AM/FM radio". This makes me think that, just perhaps, the "low level" bit might give a clue as to its' mediocre radio performance.
