Mk 2 Coming Home Lights?

Featured Replies

Okay, so, I have been thinking of looking into coming home lights, my plan was to splice into the unlock and lock wires, wire into a 30 second timer, then to thesplice side lights and number plate lights, but then the question was raised, if I was to unlock the car, get into it, the timer is still on, so sidelights and number plate lights, still on, and I turn my lights on, could that potentially fire 24v into the bulbs?

If you mean where the headlights stay on for a short period after you get out of the car then I'm pretty sure you already have them.

Keys out of ignition, flick indicator lever towards you like you are flashing high beams and lock the car.

Lights should stay in for 20-30 seconds.

But I mean automatically when I hit the keys, I will take a video of my mums car later

Not sure how 24v could be generated from a 12v system ?

No Ford I know of has automatic coming home lights, although I could be mistaken - it's a manual activation as said by Clive

Mmmm - mine doesn't, or I've not figured it out yet !

Aye, well, my theory for it producing 24v was two separate feeds of 12 going to the lights, you know, if I was to splice into the locking wiring, means 12 from it going to the lights and 12 going from the light switch itself

There would still only be 12v present :)
