Bluefin Superchips Mod

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if applying Suprchips mapping to a new car would make the manufacturer warranty void?

Yes it does - the small print from any vehicle manufacturer is also likely to - but I had no issues by simply removing the map when taking the car for service & then reinstalling it after servicing to avoid any possible overwriting

Gotcha, thanks!

It does leave a trace though that can be detected. Apparently the Spider Tuning boxes dont and have been tried by a few people on here.

All that may be detected is leftover hex codes after a map is removed (think redundant registry files on a PC when software is uninstalled).

The hex codes left on the ECU eeprom chip can be removed with the correct eeprom software via a PC (which is exactly how professional tuners programme ECU chips anyway).

Hex codes won't show up on a normal diagnostic, they would have to read the ECU code line by line to pick out redundant hex codes.

Correct.

As a tuning box holds it's own coding it just modifies data to/from the ECU but doesn't write anything to the ECU.
