Getting a little worried as i have been keeping an eye on my MPG and seems a bit low . Motorway i am getting about 37mpg but the more worrying one is Urban i am getting between 20-21mpg on average . I have kept it serviced,checked filters and all seem clean and had a search about for vacuum leaks (But have to admit i dont really know where i am looking on that one!). I saw urabn should be 29.7mpg but know the official stats tend to be high.

Any ideas folks?

What engine do you have? If it was a diesel then yes I would be worried but a petrol I would say it is about right.

1.6 ti vct town 28mpg at its lowest motorway 46-49mpg mixed around 32-38mpg so depends on the engine

Sorry thought it was on my profile at the side (I will have to sort that straight away!) . It is a 1.8 petrol.

Depending on how you drive I would imagine those figures to be right or somewhere around there.

Many thanks Simon,for some strange reason they have moved up to a more respectable 27.6 today around town.I used to be a bit heavy footed on the gas but these days i drive very sensibly .....even doing 70mph most of the time on the motorway (Ok not quite but close enough ;-) )

I have the same as you, 1.8 petrol but a 57plate, i get around 29MPG in city traffic, and average mixed is 31MPG
