1.4 Tdci - Excessive Fuel Economy

Hey all, I have a three year old Ford Fiesta 1.4TDCI with around 12000km on the clock. Recently we are getting really bad fuel economy - around 7.4lt/100km!! Me and my wife are not the most economical drivers out there but even we could get an easy 5.5lt/100km before. What could be the cause of this?

Would a can of BG244 or Fort Advanced Diesel Treatment help?

    Yes it would - when was the fuel filter last changed ?

    I've used BG244 twice now & saw a improvement both times.

    As above could try changing the fuel & air filter to see if this helps (cheap enough).
