Oil Leaks On Focus Mk 1, 2004 Reg Estate Car 1.8 Petrol

Featured Replies

Hi, I recently noticed a few spots of damp under the car, had it checked and the mechanic said the cooling system was suspect so he added some miracle component that appeared to work for several months. More recently i noticed several spots where I park. I took the car in and the mechanic jacked it up allowing me to view underneath where there's 2 areas of leaks. 1, the oil sump and 2, the gearbox. The mechanic dipped the oil level revealing hardly any oil in the car despite a recent oil and filter change. My mechanic suggested to leave well alone as potentially this could be expensive and to keep the oil level topped uo regular.

Anyone had similar episodes or can anyone offer alternative advice? Thanks for reading.
