Epoxy Advice,urgent!

Featured Replies

Hey Guys

Just joined to ask for advice,as stated in my introduction I have floated around here a bit for advice etc.

Here's my issue:

Recently bought my Ford Focus Lx TDCI 1.8 Mk2 from a leeds dealer.

Ran smooth for a week, until it suddenly went into Limp Home Mode after a trip to Skeggy, twice in fact,so allot of Revs etc.

This was accompanied by a Red Cog with the exclamation mark, has since gone never to return, but limp mode remains.

To solve this I tried a Glow Plug change and while doing this I snapped (Well not snapped completely) a plastic pipe,it's more split a little that snapped off.

Now it's slowly leaking yellow oil that originates from the container to the left of the Bonnet,Managed to stop the leak for now but when using revs it quickly starts leaking again, the stuff I'm using is rubbish.

So Need advice on the very best Epoxy to weld it tight,No way am I going to a garage when it's just a small crack in the plastic.

Thanks fellas, looking forward to any and all advice, love my new car,my first car I might add.

(Can't even test if the Glow plugs fixed the original problem lol, until this is fixed)

EDIT: forgot to mention that before posting I went ahead and ordered this on a whim

Thanks very much Mark, just ordered some now

Kudos

Did you make sure its oil resistant or you might end up redoing it in a few weeks time. Make sure you clean the area thoroughly as well.

Sure hope this works,It's the hose coming from the Engine coolant Oil tankbefore it reaches the main engine block that has split (where the hose meets the hard plastic next to the dip stick).

Only had the car 2 weeks Q_Q

I've used it to reattach the radiator overflow pipe/nipple thingy on a rover 214 many moons ago so "should" be fine.
