1.4 Induction Kit Location??

Featured Replies

Just bought 1.4 mk6 fiesta and it sounds nice with induction and straight through exhaust,

But the induction goes over engine and sits on top of engine/exhaust with the breather on top of rocker cover going into filter itself,

Now I read that there is alot of hot air for it sitting there so should be on 90 degree angle sat in front of engine between front of engine bay and engine over towards battery way.

My first question is would the difference in these 2 locations make any difference to power? Even when sat in traffic?

If so the I want it in the other position, so how do I do this with rocker cover breather pipe not being long enough to reach filter itself?

Can post picture in morning if helps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Get a longer hose to go from the rocker cover to the filter.

Youre best putting it lower down (not too low) in front of the battery casing.

Wherever you put it, the 1.4 engine hasnt got much going for it.

I recently got quoted £1000 for a custom induction kit & sports cat exhaust including manifold 4-2-1 manifold. They said I'd get about 25bhp increase..

£1000 for 25bhp

Wow! That's nothing!

If I'm sat at lights and engine is hot,all that heat is going straight up into filter so as I drive away it sucks in hot air, would this be noticible if I change location of filter?

I can't say wether it would be noticeable.

But you'd get more air flow mounting it lower down as youd get get cold air flow from the lower grill & under the car. Don't go too low with it.. it may begin yo drink puddles

If not. Measure it and purchase a longer replacement
