Wiring Heated Seats Into A Zetec

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i have recently bought some heated seats out of a titanium to put into my zetec and wondered how i now go about wiring in the heated part of them, i have got the switches which i pick up tomorrow.

any help would be much appreciated!

many thanks,

Sam

have you checked the wiring loom is present? if not, have you checked if the wiring is in the gem?

if not, have you checked your version of gem can have them added?

if not, this could be tricky! :p

if the seats you got are heated then must have been a titanium x .

have a look behind the heated window switches see if you have the plugs on both sides

if they are then you might be in luck.when you get the switches and plug them in and see if they light up.

.ive installed st3 seats in mine and wired them to heat up as well

i found i had a live wire missing from the fuse box to the heated seats .and 2 wires to either of the seats from the switches.

the 2 switches go from the passenger foot well connector to each seat .

my house is upside down at the moment as where having a new kitchen put in ,but if you like i can get some pics of the wireing i did.

They didn't actually make a Titanium X spec in the Mk2.5 Focus. Would've come from a Titanium with optional heated leathers like mine, so seems odd your Titanium didn't have necessary wiring as I thought they all would.

Just out of interest, how much did you pay for the set? :)

they are the cloth heated seats and were out of Yuni's Car which I bought of him for £50, I have looked behind the switch panel and can't seem to find any plugs, all I found was this,

The wiring you see to the left is plug into a blank plate :s any idea what this could be? My focus is a mk2.5 and I just assumed they were compatible,

I know the plugs under the seat don't have the wires in it for the heated seats and so I thought it might just be a case of throwing a wiring loom in?

I may of but of abit to much here but I determined to get it working haha

Cheers,

Sam

i think they did.it would of had half leathers

i paid for the leather seats £850 i think not sure ,might be less .i was lucky my focus has electric windos back and front, the door cards come from a st that had electric windows back and front so the door cards was ideal

you are going to have to make a loom with relay to get the heated seats working .the plug into blank is to switch of the passenger air bag .

If you could post some pics up that would be great! Thanks :)

as soon as i get a minute i will take some pics and put them up

Nah they didn't have the 'X' trims in the Mk2.5, not sure why, maybe they didn't think there was enough call for it. All the titaniums had rear electric windows. :)

ive seen ads for titanium x with half leathers

Really? Any around currently? I looked for months and didn't find any!

might be left hand ones

Not much use over here then. Honestly though, there aren't any Mk2.5 Titanium Xs that I know of (in the UK), all just Titaniums eitherwith cloth or with the optional x pack. Imo there should've been more as standard on the Titanium, cruise, climate and some leather should've been standard at least!

The X has fallen off my Dads Ghia X Mondy, thought about sticking it on mine haha.

i was thinking of putting an x on mine.because ive now got leather heated seats power fold mirrors and ive done the esp switch .lol

To be honest I think it only really started when Ford got complaints the Mondeo never came in an St spec, so they upped the titanium and added it on, now it's just extra luxury items for the rest of the fleet

Mondeo ?

I thought this was about a Focus !

A Mondeo TXS is a ST in all but a badge imo & my MK4.5 TXS knocks spots off my old Mondeo ST TDCi & that was a really great car

Yeah but if I'm not mistaken (which I probably am) I'm referring solely to the reason the titanium x was born.

So I'm guessing I have to wire from scratch?

Cheers

Mine had heated leathers and powerfold mirrors as options when new, as well as black masked Xenons and privacy glass...either someone had more money than sense or it was a dealers test drive car! :D

I've had to add cruise though, which should've been standard imo! Don't want an ESP button though, having an odd blank on the other side would annoy me lol.

ive got a usb socket on the other side

If the wiring isn't there then yes you will need to wire it all in manually

Ah that's a good idea! No use to me though as I still use compact discs lol, would prefer a 6 CD changer tbh.

Oops, forgot the topic of this thread lol. Pretty simple though, if the wiring isn't there, it needs to be added. :D
