Hi.

My Focus 1.8 TD SWT (Endura DI) started acting out, and I guess I need to check the valves.

For the job, two tools are mentioned in the Haynes-book: a special puller to remove the camshaft sprocket (Ford tool 303-651) and a timing pin (Ford tool 303-193) to find the TDC.

What's so special in the puller, and fhy doesn't an ordinary puller do? Any alternative tricks?

Is that puller expensive? (Yes, I live in Finland, but prices in other European countries give some idea.)

How about the timing pin? looked like a bolt with two nuts locked against each other.

What's the threading? How long? Expensive if bought from Ford?

    Never occurred to me that they could be on sale in ebay. :)

    And they don't seem to be very expensive either. :)
