Hi, can't finds old post from a few weeks ago but was suffering from misfiring on my 57 plate 1.6 tdci but have now pinned it down to this multi plug was loose/dirty as after cleaning and refitting the plug the car now seems to be ok again!

Can anyone give me info on what this part actually is and what it does, and if anyone has suffered problems similar to what I've had?

    Difficult to say engine seems pictured on an odd orientation, at a guess either idle control valve or EGR valve?

    What colour were the wires? Looks like mutliplug for glowplug harness. 4 thick wires

    Sorry for the poor orientation of the pictures but they're ab absolute bigger to access.

    I think they're all green wires, possibly with a yellow streak but yes all fairly thick in comparison to most of the others

    Thank you for that, would you know repocusions if this connection was dirty or loose? I've recently cleaned this connection and it seemed to solve our problems with the misfire for the moment, There was no pattern with the misfire as it could happen when hot or cold or maybe at the end of a journey which could be 1 or 100 miles
