Hello,

I am trying to diagnose a fault on my mother-in-laws Ford Ghia. She has had her spark plugs changed, Her HT leads have been changed, Lamba sensor has been changed, The block that the HT Leads plug into and still no luck.

We have had a friend plug the car into the computer and nothing seemed alarming on the computer with the airflow and fuel intake etc etc.

The problem we are having is after a few minutes of driving the car starts to hold back and really struggles to go over 30 mph and you can hear the car really struggling but the revs will stay low. The way she describes it is the car is dragging when she is driving.

We have had a mechanic looking at it next Saturday but in the mean time I still want to help her out if possible, do any of you guys have any ideas or came across this before?

So the coil pack, HT Leads & lambda sensor have been changed. If there seems to be no issues with the air then try changing the fuel filter (only about £5-10 part & an easy job). It wouldn't hurt it to change the air filter too as then it's had a full service excluding oil. Then try some injector cleaner and take it for a good old "thrashing" through the gears. Make sure there's plenty of oil in if you font change it.
