Rear Suspension Bushes

Featured Replies

Hi

Recently had the Car in for some work to be done, I asked the Garage to do a Pre Mot check

Which they did. I've been told that as the Car stands it will pass an Mot but their was an advisory.

Both Front and Rear Suspension bushes are worn not surprising as the Car is 10 years old :)

Nearside Rear trailing Arm Bush has wear. I had a look on E.Bay and their's a company selling a kit for the rear suspension bushes but they seem to be for the 100 BHP 1.6 Focus, mine is the 115 BHP.

Would it be a different set up at the Rear and Front car is an 05 Zetec.

Oh and I was also advised that both front and nearside rear indicator bulbs are white ?

Regards

Ian

By different do you mean ,are the suspension arms front and rear different?Yes,completely different. The same suspension arms are used throughout the bhp range.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

If the BHP doesn't matter then I guess it would be OK

to buy the rear suspension bush kit .

Will see if I can find one for the Front as well. May as well change them all and be done with it.

Regards

Ian

Are you just buying the bushes?

Yes I was was just looking for a price for the Bushes.

However I came across the Kit on E.bay which seems to provide nearly everything. I'm not sure what to do as I don't have a Bush Press kit.

So may just leave it to the Garage to do

Thanks

Ian

If you are going to replace all the bushes, that's a lot of work.I know because I've done a bush upgrade on my MK 1.

Ford wanted £480 just to do 2 rear tie-bar bushes, the ones up under the wheel arches and on the MK1 there are 14 rear bushes.

Thats a lot of bushes

I might have to invest in the Bush Presser and buy the kit from the bay

Thanks

Ian

That's if you can get the suspension arms off.You might have to cut them off if the bolts cant be removed.Yea,2 bushes to each arm.3 arms each side plus the 2 tie-bar bushes.

Looking less likely I will be doing it myself.

Had the Car in for a Timing Belt change . The place I used was local. Their also an MOT station so may get a quote from them.

MOT is due next Feb but would like to have it all done by then.

If I could get all the Bushes in the Kit I was looking at from E.Bay I might give it a try problem is getting somewhere to do the work.

Used to have a house with a driveway and garage plus loads of tools. now in a one Bedroom Flat :)

So might be tricky..
