Hey just just wondering as i am new to the ford brand is there any particular software/computer to use with ford cars? Something a little more than a generic obd reader, i have had volkswagens in the past and i am after somthing similar to vag com?

    The Elm327 can be modified to work with elmconfig and other programs

    Modified elm327 an forscan will cover most stuff you need, we aren't talking ford VCM / IDS but for 20 quid with change its a pretty close second.

    ok cool, have you guys any links as to how to modify the elm327? and does it matter which elm327 i get? i know for example there are clone vag cables that to be honest are useless, is there any elm327's i should avoid?

    All the elm327 devices on eBay you should regard as fake - a copy of an earlier chip. However, they work OK - there are guides on this forum on how to modify.

    Good question but I am afraid I don't have the answer to that question, as far as I can tell it does work on a MK4 however yours I have no idea.

    Sorry buddy, hopefully someone who has tried it will be able to let you know.

    Worse case scenario is buy one and try it, if it doesn't work flog it on to someone on here lol
