Weird Unexplained Grinding

Featured Replies

Hey guys, as you may have gathered from my other posts, cars aren't up there in my knowledge base so bare with me.

The last few days (mainly after a bad day at work) I have been playing in my car and cornering whilst braking quite hard, basically I'm getting a loud grinding noise, I don't think its the tyres locking, more of a mechanical sound.

I have also noticed my hand brake has to be in the top two notches if I want it to hold the car on a hill. Any lower and it rolls.

I don't think my brake pads are wearing as the pedal is still quite high whilst applying the brakes. I.e. It doesn't take much pressure to stop.

Cheers for the help guys.

Best check the brakes anyway, rule them out

Certainly sounds like you have worn the pads out, don't want to leave it or new disks will be needed on top.
