Before Buying A Focus...

Featured Replies

Hi! I'm almost determined to buy a Ford Focus Ecoboost Trend+, but I have a few questions about Sync. The guy says (and insists) it includes Sync2, but the papers say it's Sync1. Anyway, I'd like to know if there's any way to connect my smartphone to the system so I can view Google Maps on the car screen. Any other maps app for Android would also do.

I also wanted to ask if it will be possible to update it to Sync 3 when it's launched - paying for it, of course.

Sync 1 and Sync 2 do not support Android Auto so you can't project the screen or any apps to it. I don't know if Sync 3 does/will, but the hardware is different anyway, so it can't be upgraded to, from an older version.

We will not get Sync 3 in Europe until the MK4 Focus sometime in 2018 at a guess.
