Also when i gently apply my brakes theres a grinding noise

any help would be great

The grinding noise could be worn out brake pads

No 11 plate and i am going to just wanted a 2nd opinion

An 11 plate could easily have worn out brake pads - even if they have been changed since new

Ok mate what about the knocking

If your brakes are grinding and your 'gently' pressing the pedal it could also be that they have a slight coating of rust after a damp night, once the rust has been ground off the brakes will be quiet again! ..... Normal
