Connect Dash Problems

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I'm new to using forums and new to the Connect vans.

I had an X plate escort van for a few years which had only covered 62000mls but unfortunately needed a van with a side loading door :(.

So I've now bought a 53 plate Connect Tourneo which I have to say is so much more comfy than the Escort.

Having a few small issues with the Connect however which all seem to revolve around the speedo head.

Firstly the clock won't adjust and the trip mileage won't reset

Secondly when I switch off the van the dash lights in the speedo head stay dimly illuminated for between 5-20 minutes.

Any ideas on how to fix these issues would be great.

Thanks Martin

I'd hazard a guess that someone may have dismantled the cluster at some point to fit LED's.

Lights glowing for so long after switching off is usually due to low power LED's running on residual current while the ECU powers down, no real problem as the current they draw is nowhere near high enough to pull down a battery in 20 minutes.

Concerning the reset pin, I'd say it wasn't refitted properly when he cluster was opened up to fit LED's (if that is indeed the case).

If you have major concerns with the cluster then you can send it to a company that will test and repair it if need be, usually costs about £100.
